About Daddy's Leather Supply

Daddy’s Leather Supply was born as a labor of love for what we do and more importantly because there was no local source for the quality leathers and supplies we use. Since opening our store, we are now offering our quality products to Leather crafters in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as those here in the states.

Another reason for the store was that every time we went to do a show or expo people kept calling what we do a "dying or lost art" tha’s when we decided to try and bring more people into this wonderful world. We decided to convert Daddy’s Saddles and Leatherworks into a more of a leather craft store offering quality supplies and classes to the general public.

We are a small family owned and operated business. We offer our friends and customers a very fair price without compromising quality or our integrity. Every effort has been made to offer products made in the USA instead of the imported stuff that is so typical of the mega stores today.

So please have fun checking out our site and if you are ever in the area drop on by and visit us.

About Daddy

Howdy my name is Luis Rayon, but my friends all call me Lui or Daddy; not in the so called sicko way but because of my strong family values and beliefs .

My first encounter with leather was waaaaay back in high school when I made a weight lifting belt in my Arts and Crafts class. I have been working with leather on and off ever since. I have always been inclined to the arts and crafts world especially carving and sculpturing. I have experimented with many mediums and techniques from Bonsai to chainsaw carving.

I am thankful to the good lord for giving me the best family a man could ever ask for. I have a great mother and father who taught my brothers and me to love and respect each other and how important it is to stay tight. I have a good loving woman who has stood next to me throughout the years and without her love and understanding I would not be the person I am today. We have 3 kids (a boy and 2 girls) and now we have been blessed with our first grandson. I love you all.

Along life’s journey I have been a charter boat captain, samurai, construction worker, master plumber, biker and an NRA fire arm instructor. I have been called everything from a renaissance man to a madman but I believe we must follow our hearts and dreams. Live your life to the fullest and when our maker calls us back , there will be nothing to regret.

Anyway, back to leather. I pretty much learned it from books and screwing up a lot of projects, though the screw ups can also be called experimentation. My work has won me several awards including some from the International Federation of Leather Guilds.

I am the president of the South Florida Gator Leather Guild, as well as a member of the Everglades Leather Guild and several Internet groups like the International Internet Leather Guild, Flasah and Leatherworker.net

I started teaching leather craft classes over at Tandy and will now continue to do so here at Daddy’s. I have no secrets and promise to help anyone I can.

The doors to my shop are always open to everyone so feel free to call me or drop by whenever you want.
